A lot of the products that I supply to NZ women and couples through My Fertility are imported from overseas.
The reduction in international flights, and lack of supply has caused an untold amount of frustration for me this week.
I was pondering my response to my suppliers and customers this morning… in the shower (who else does that?)
I was struck by a realisation that so many of us are grappling with situations that are completely out of our control right now.
That feeling of not knowing when, what, who or how – with schooling, health, job security, business continuity, mortgage and rent payments, supermarket shopping – everything is out of our control.
Emotions can run high.
I had a choice, I could contact my suppliers and give them a piece of my mind OR I could go out of my way to ensure there was no animosity coming from my corner.
As humans, we are always looking for someone to blame.
With this whole shituation, there is like literally no-one to blame.
So what do we do? How do we respond when things are just not going our way?
💜 We first take a few deep breaths – maybe even a shower?
💜 Then we embrace 3 concepts: Patience, Grace & Trust.
Patience is like a muscle, and I would say it is not something that many of us do well. Sometimes we need to wait, and sit in that waiting-ness.
How you ‘wait’ is just as important.
This is where Grace comes into the picture.
💜 Being kind, be curteous
Then we let go, we release, we hand over our burdens and concerns.
💜 We Trust that things will work out.
In this respect, we are all in this together, this time is actually offering us an opportunity for personal growth like no other.
Let go of the anxiety of not knowing. Be kind to others, be kind to yourself. Learn to trust. Only concern yourself about today.
And you will be rewarded with Patience.
