Taking part in a preconception health care programme for at least 3 months before trying to conceive is one of the best gifts you will ever give your future children.
It takes 3-6 months for sperm and eggs to develop fully, and, there are certain nutrient requirements to be aware of before conception, such as folic acid and iodine.
When you work with me, both partners need to be a part of this process, as well as any third party’s such as a surrogate. It is important to have every one on board to ensure the best possible outcome.
Your initial appointment can take up to 2 hrs, a comprehensive treatment plan will then be provided, this includes:
- Referrals for further testing
- Prenatal Supplement Advice
- Specific nutritional advice
- Lifestyle advice
- Hormone Assessment and herbal support if necessary
- Tracking your cycle
Follow up Appointments are usually every month, where the treatment plan is reviewed and tweaked as necessary.
It is important to remember that it can take 6 months to 1 year for the average kiwi couple to conceive. I will work closely with you to ensure that you are referred onto relevant infertility specialists if conception does not occur within the expected timeframe.
